A kafstelhuo story in which the trio enjoys a casual farm-themed immersia.
Day 1, farming

“This place is kind of ratty, don’t you think?”

“This is just how it looks in the beginning. We can make it look nice in no time!”

“Alright then… So how do we go about that?
Get a contractor? Hire some landscapers while we’re at it, too?”

“No, we have to do it ourselves.
Well, most of it at least.
Don’t worry, it won’t be too hard. We can start by weeding.”
Kafka looks on as Stelle kneels on the ground to tend to a nearby patch of weeds.

“Why do we have to do this on our own?”

“That’s just how it works. Plus, we don’t really have any money to do anything else right now.”

“You don’t have any money, Stelle?
What happened? Did you spend it all during your trip to Penacony?”

“N-no! It’s not like that!
You don’t have money, either! None of us do! We have to earn it!”
Stelle felt as though she were being reprimanded by a mother figure–and thus–she felt humiliated.

“Really? You can’t just throw money at this thing?
I thought that’s how all games worked nowadays.”
That’s how Silver Wolf’s handled a lot of her games, at least.
Stelle shakes her head.

“It’s not that kind of game.
We have to work on the farm and sell our produce to make a living and build a fortune in the village.”
Kafka smiles.

“So this is your idea of a getaway, huh? Slaving away on a farm for pennies?”

“When you put it like that, it sounds weird… but it’s fun, I promise!
Just try it for a bit? Huohuo should be here any minute.”

“Of course I will. I couldn’t say no to that face.”
Kafka looks on as Stelle takes on the task of weeding the farm. Stelle has experienced this Immersia many times before, but she only just recently began enjoying it with Huohuo. This is the first time she’s managed to get Kafka on board.
Stelle does her best to explain the appeal of the Immersia, hoping that Kafka won’t lose interest.

“There’s also a horde of aliens in the dungeon!”

“Oh? Aliens? Not wolves or monsters?”

“Yeah…”
She pauses, deeply considering her next words.
She decides against divulging the lore behind the aliens in the dungeon. There’s a non-zero chance that Kafka may enjoy the Immersia enough to return for another session.

“… It’ll make sense if we keep playing.”

“No complaints from me.
Show me where the dungeon is, will you?”
Stelle obliges, using her jade abacus to ping the location of the dungeon on the map.

“It’s here… but you might want to hold off until the third week. That’s when we can complete a request for the village elder’s son and get some equipment as a reward. Those aliens are so annoying without it.”
The older woman laughs.

“Just how often do you play this game, Stelle?”
Stelle couldn’t help but feel a little humiliated again.

“I only played it a few times with March… And a little bit with Huohuo…”
And a billion times in between. All alone. On her own. Because she didn’t have many friends that were free or interested enough to join.

“I was gonna go back to the farm to wait for Huohuo.
If you’re still gonna go through the dungeon, just be careful “

“Aw, there’s no need to fuss over me. I’ll be back before you know it.
Here. Be sure to share this with Huohuo once she gets here.”
She holds Stelle by the the chin and gives her several smooches.
A familiar face greets Stelle at the farmhouse.

“H-Hi! Sorry to join so late!”

“Mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah!!”
The two spend the day tending to the farm, introducing their selves to the NPC’s, and running certain errands for the villagers. During some downtime, Huohuo even introduces Stelle to one of her favourite fishing locations.
The two return to the farmhouse by dusk. It was a nice day, but something was missing.
Stelle types out a global message.

Have you been in the dungeon all day?
…

Huohuo's here, btw
No response.

Kafka?
Nothing.

“Maybe she got lost?”
Stelle pings the location of the farmhouse on the map.
Kafka does not come.

“That’s strange. She won’t even respond…”

“Hmm…”

You have to use your jade abacus……
…

I’m doing fine in the dungeon. Tell Huohuo I said "Hello".
Stelle smiles to herself. Huohuo sighs with relief.

You should come back to the farm. We’ll get a penalty if you stay out too late. You’ll lose half of your items.

I’ll be right there.
And the woman is true to her word.
It isn’t long before she enters the cabin. Stelle and Huohuo are already cozy on the bed.

“Everyone has to be in bed before we can advance to the next day.”

“It’s surprisingly comfy!”
Kafka needs no convincing. She nestles herself in between her two lovers.

“Mm, like this?”

“Yeah. Good job!”

“I can’t believe you went to the dungeon this early on. How was it?”

“Oh, I had a lovely time.
Killed a ton of monsters down there.”

“How far did you get? Do you know what level you made it to?”

“No, can’t say I recall.
How about the two of you? Tell me how your day went.”
Stelle and Huohuo ramble on about everything they accomplished throughout the day.
Kafka was glad to hear it.
Day 3, cheating

Stelle and Huohuo insist that Kafka should spend the day on the farm this time. Kafka’s spent most of her free time in the dungeon each day up until now, and the two really want to showcase all that Mylk of Jupiter has to offer.

“Why is my name floating above that thing?”

“That’s the name. Stelle named it after you.”

“I named some of the other animals after us, too.”
Kafka leans down to pet a calf named “Huohuo”.

“Well isn’t that sweet.
I wonder if she’ll taste as good as you do.”

“Ahaha!
…Ah. Wait…”

“You can’t eat Huohuo!”

“Well, why not? Isn’t that what it’s for?”

“No! It’s for loving!
Huohuo is for milking! Not tasting!”

“You’re worrying me, Stelle. Are you a vegetarian now?”

“It’s not like that!”

“We can always eat the eggs from the chickens.”

“But beef is off limits?”

“No, we could still eat beef if we wanted, we’d just have to buy it from the grocer in town.”

“That means no eating Huohuo!
Or Stelle!
Or Kafka!
They’re our children!”
Kafka laughs.

“Alright, alright, I get it~”
They give Kafka a tour around the village. During a tour, Kafka notices a boutique. They look stop to look inside the shop briefly. It’s small and quaint, and Kafka is quite intrigued in the fashion.

“The cosmetics are nice, but really expensive.
I usually can’t afford them until way later.”

“Aww, why don’t you just take ’em?”

“Uhhh… I don’t think it’s even possible to do something like that in here.”

“Well, that’s no fun.”

“Selling loot from the dungeon is a good way to generate wealth!
Oh, but that take a while because all of the lucrative rewards are in the lower levels.”

“That so? I’ll have to reassess all the junk I acquired down there.”

“Oh, that reminds me! I still have to give this present to Kuiper.
I should still have time before she goes home at the end of the day.”

“Kuiper? Who’s that?”

“She’s one of the villagers in the Immersia. She’s an artist that wants to leave for the big city one day.”

*Whistles*
“You know their names, schedules, and backstories… That sure is some dedication you have.”

“It’s important to pay attention–especially for the romances.
I always go for Kuiper.”

“Hm? Romance? Did I hear that right?”
Kafka asks with a tilt of the head and an unreadable smile.

“Uh, yeah… What’s wrong? You’re not jealous, are you? Ahaha…“
Stelle tried to make light of the situation.
But no one laughed.

“I just don’t understand why you would want to “romance” some… fake, virtual, thing when I’m right here.”
One may notice that Kafka made no attempt to deny the accusations of jealousy.

“Its a part of the experience! We’re supposed to farm, do quests, and date villagers. It’s part of the fantasy.”

“The cheating fantasy?”

“………
Huohuo? Can you help me explain it to her?”

“I never deal with the villagers more than I have to. It’s nerve-wracking enough to handle people in the real world… “
Kafka drapes her arms around the Foxian’s shoulders.

“See? Huohuo gets it.
At least someone around here knows a thing or two about loyalty.”

“… I don’t have to romance any of the villagers.”

“Oh, no, don’t let little old me get in the way of your fun. This is your ultimate fantasy after all~”

“Aw come on, don’t say that!”
Although Kafka gave her a hard time, things seemed to settle down once Stelle went in for a group hug.
Day 5, exploring

Stelle attempts to stow away some of her items in the chest at the farmhouse, but finds that it is filled to the brim with junk.

“Hey, Huohuo? Did you put a bunch of junk in the chest?”

“No, I haven’t done anything.
Why? What’s in there?”
Huohuo comes to inspect.

“Wait… This isn’t junk. There’s actually a lot of rare and valuable items in here…
How did you get all this?”

“I don’t know…”
Stelle uses her jade abacus once again to send a message.

There's a lot of stuff in the chest here.
Did you rob someone???

Not this time.
I wasn't able to sell half of the loot down here, so I put them in the chest. Figured you wouldn't mind.

No, we don't mind. Just surprised.
Where are you right now? Dungeon?

Yes. Care to join?
It was only fair. The two were definitely curious to see how Kafka had been faring in the dungeons all this time.
They had to traverse down 247 levels in the dungeon to finally meet up with the woman.

“Wow, is that a new coat?”

“That’s right. Went on a bit of a shopping spree after selling most of the garbage I found down here.
You like it?”
She turns to show off the coat from varying angles.

“You look great!”

“Yeah. It looks good on you!”
The three descend further into the dungeon. There is no doubt that Kafka would have reached the very bottom of the depths if they were not shackled by the limited amount of hours in a day.

“I’ve never been this far down before. The aliens become so much scarier once you reach the 50th level…
… but you you made it this far all on your own!”

“Yeah, some of those guys were a little tricky, but it was a fun.”
Stelle wonders if she should introduce Kafka to a more adventurous Immersia next time.
They reach level 250. There are many eerie crystals on this floor. It doesn’t seem possible to continue downwards. There is a large, imposing door built into one of the walls of the cave.

“Huh? That’s it? Did we reach the end?”

“I can’t believe it! We reached the ancient seal!
I read all about it, but I never thought I’d actually get to see it!”
Huohuo admires the giant door with great awe.

“Anything special behind the door?”

“There’s supposed to be a final boss on the other side. But it’s impossible for us to undo the seal right now. We’ll need items that can only be obtained later in the storyline.”

“So that’s it for the dungeon, huh?”

“Yeah.
I mean, you’re still free to explore through the levels all you want.”

“I suppose, but it’s no fun conquering the same old things over and over again.
Oh well. What else is there to get into?”

“Well… we could make the perfect dish to compete in the Mylk festival. Huohuo and I were gonna go fishing for our ingredients.
But that might seem a bit too boring for you…”

“Nonsense. It’ll be nice to do something together.”
The trio make their way out of the dungeon and into the virtual open air. Huohuo leads the way to her favourite fishing spot, and the two teach Kafka about fishing in the Immersia.

“This is pretty nice.”

“Heheh, it really is! It’s so relaxing that I sometimes get caught up in the scenery and completely forget about fishing.”
Kafka pets Huohuo on the head.

“I see what you mean. It’s a bit romantic.”
She looks to Stelle this time.

“Hope you aren’t missing your Kuiper too much, now.”
Stelle rolled her eyes.

“Aw come on! You said you were fine with it!”
She certainly hoped Kafka was fine with it, at least. Because she had already continued on with her routine of gaining Kuiper’s affections after the events of the 3rd day.

“I did, didn’t I?”
Kafka hums.
Stelle and Huohuo catch a decent amount of high-grade fish during the excursion. Everyone returns to the cabin before noon to wind down. Of course, things become a little steamy.

“Let’s see Kuiper compete with this.“

“Enough of that!!”
Day 7, festival

The women attend the first Mylk festival in the village square. Stelle and Huohuo each brought the complex dishes they had been working on for the last few days. Kafka brought a sunny-side-up egg.
The festival is lively, with nearly every villager being in attendance. There is music and plenty of activities to partake in. They register their dishes for the competition.

“Huh. I didn’t know that so many villagers existed in this place.”

“It always catches me off guard too, but it’s worth it to attend events like these because of the rewards.”

“It’s pretty fun talking to the villagers. You should try it, Kafka. I think you’d like Betelgeuse.”

“Mmm, if you say so. But no matter what, I’ll always like you the most.”
The three talk amongst their selves and share gossip regarding the villagers. Vegas has 6 children and hates all of them. Ioni is cheating on her husband with Harbor, the blacksmith.
It’s possible to romance Farren, the nurse, but if you mess up with her too much, then she’ll fall in love with Fox, the innkeeper, instead. The thing is–the innkeeper only agrees to marry Farren because he’s trying to repress his feelings for Harbor. And get this, if you read Harbor’s diary, you learn that Fox and Harbor are brothers.
Before the festival officially commences, Stelle wants to speak with Kuiper for some bonus affinity points, but it’s no use. The NPC is nowhere to be found. Come to think of it, Stelle has had trouble locating the villager for a couple of days now.
Is the Immersia bugged? Should they restart the experience? Verify all cache and data?
Kafka is amused.

“You mean you still haven’t found her?”
There’s something about the tone of her voice. That look on her face.

“Kafka?
What do you mean by that?”

“Hm?”

“What did you mean by that?”

“Nothing. I just thought you would have found her by now.“
There it is again.

“What did you do?”

“Don’t you wanna find out for yourself? It’d be no fun if I spoiled the surprise.”

“Noo, just tell me! Please!”

“Oh, alright. I’ll show you. Come on.”

“If we leave the area now, we’ll be forced to skip the festival…”
After mulling it over, they agree that solving the mystery of the NPC’s disappearance is worth it.

“… Is she gonna be alright?”

“I don’t think she’s capable of dying. It must not be in their programming.”

“Seems like it.”
The three women admire Kuiper, the “drowned” villager. It’s almost serene. Kuiper continually walks in place, seemingly unable to navigate to shore properly. Stelle jumps into the ocean to retrieve the villager. Her heroics are rewarded with a generic dialogue about the Mylk festival. The NPC immediately leaves.

“You look cute, all drenched like that.”
She presses a kiss to Stelle’s forehead.
Stelle laughs.

” I cant believe you did that… All because you were jealous of a fictional character.
If you wanted me to leave her alone, you could’ve just said so.“

“I know.”

“You kept telling me it was fine to play the way I wanted.”

“I know, I know.”
Of course she knew. But it was impossible for Kafka to conduct herself in any other manner.

“A… Ahchoo!!”

“Oh no. Maybe we should get back to the house.”
Even though Stelle was the only one in digitally soggy clothes, they all stripped down and snuggled under the blankets. The room was kept toasty thanks to a lit fireplace.

“I think I like it best when they decorate for the Lunistice ceremony.“

“Yeah, that one’s nice too…
… Kinda sucks that we missed out on the cooking competition, though.”

“I’m sure the two of you would’ve had them all beat.”
Kafka says, as if though weren’t her fault that they missed out on the event in the first place.
The idle chatter dies down, and they doze off for the night.
End.

I understand that this is not the typical content I’ve been posting on this page up until now… [Expand for further details]
But the thing is, I’ve come to the realization that not all of my ideas can/should be limited to an interactive/video game format. I realized that a lot of my creative ideas work just as well/better off in a written format.
Up until now, I’ve always categorized my posts in 2 manners. milk and snacks. I’ve done this regardless of the fact that these categories could not be seen by anyone other than myself. It was purely for my own sake. Now that I intend to broaden the scope of the blog to include my writings (and potentially more in the future) I plan feature these categories more prominently to make the reader aware of the differing types of content that may be featured on the blog. posts like these will be tagged as storytime.
For now, I’ve already updated the posts of the blog to include the category in the header.
From here on out, one can expect stories (both original and fandom) on this website from here on out.
